Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or older if required by your local law) to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.

2. Description of the Service

Volio is a career journaling app that allows career-minded professionals to capture their experiences at work as entries in a personal journal and extract unique insights that help the user learn about the relevant skills they're demonstrating in their role and leverage that information to grow in their career.

3. User-Generated Content

You retain ownership of the content you submit to the Service ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, process, and analyze your content solely to operate, improve, and provide the Service. You are responsible for the legality and appropriateness of your content.

4. Use of AI and Automated Tools

The Service uses AI technologies to analyze and generate content. These outputs may be imperfect, incomplete, or contain inaccuracies. They are not a substitute for professional advice. You agree not to rely solely on AI-generated outputs for decisions affecting your employment, legal standing, or personal well-being.

5. Rights You Grant to Us

In addition to the license in Section 3, you grant us the right to use anonymized and aggregated data derived from your content to improve the Service, train AI models, and develop new features. We do not sell your personal information.

6. User Responsibilities

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any laws or regulations
• Harass, abuse, or harm others
• Submit false, misleading, or infringing content
• Submit content that includes any confidential, proprietary, or trade secret information of any third party unless you have obtained all necessary rights and permissions to do so
• Disrupt or damage the Service or its security

You are solely responsible for ensuring that your content does not violate any confidentiality agreements, employment obligations, or applicable laws.

7. Account and Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access.

8. Subscriptions and Payments

If the Service includes paid features, you agree to the posted pricing and billing terms. Subscriptions may automatically renew unless canceled prior to the renewal date. Refunds are provided at our sole discretion.

9. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in the Service (excluding User Content) belong to Volio or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at our discretion, including for violations of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends and we may delete your account and content, subject to applicable law.

11. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all liability for damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, or liabilities arising out of your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of a jurisdiction to be determined by Volio, excluding its conflict of laws principles. Until such jurisdiction is formally established, you agree that any disputes will be resolved in accordance with generally applicable principles of U.S. contract law.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via the Service or email. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
